Supply and Installation of Residential Aluminium Windows & Doors in Torquay
We have just completed the manufacture and installation of our Aluminium Windows & Doors at a magnificent new residential property in beautiful Torquay. Due to the property being in close proximity to the ocean and on a main traffic thoroughfare – there were environmental factors and impacts which had to be considered with regard to materials used in the build. We worked closely with the Owner to achieve outcomes which are both structurally and aesthetically positive in relation to the windows and doors.
Extensive engineering was achieved for the main front facial window due to its’ size such as the use of reinforced steel inside the frame to support lateral forces. The weight of the 40mm DGU unit is approximately 630 kgs and the glass 5m x 2.5 high weighing 150 kgs. The glass for this front feature window was supplied by a local Geelong company – Solos Glass.
To reduce environmental impacts such as temperature control and external noise reduction, the thermally-broken window and door framing system we used to manufacture for this project was AWS (Architectural Window Systems). This system allows us to manufacture windows of a bespoke nature which will enhance the liveability and enjoyment of this new home.
