The team at Innovative Window Solutions installed residential aluminium doors as part of a home renovation in Leopold. Situated on the banks of beautiful Lake Connewarre, this home now enjoys gorgeous, uninterrupted views through the 731 Thermal 4-Panel Sliding Doors which lead onto the outside surrounding decking area.
730 Thermal Heart 5-Panel Bi-fold doors separate the lounge and living areas, while still allowing for the view and natural lighting to flow through. This also assisted with controlling temperatures into the lounge area.
A 731 Thermal 3-panel sliding door was used on the addition leading to outside decking and yard.
A series of custom-made aluminium windows were installed throughout the home, including sliding, fixed panels and awning sash (wind-out style). Framing was 804 Thermal Centre Glaze in an AWS special finish as specified and also AWS clear Anodised Matt Black. We also included high-quality aluminium mesh flyscreens with most windows.
Custom black door and window hardware completed the modern look.
Window glass was 24mm IGU 6mm EnergyTech (Argon-filled) to meet energy rating requirements, featuring single and double glazing as specified.
Glazing was predominantly done on-site. As the owners occupied the home while the renovation was in progress, Innovative Window Solutions’ Project Manager, team of installers and glaziers had to work closely with the builder and the owner to co-ordinate a practical installation process.
All residential aluminium doors and windows were installed in compliance with Australian Standards, including:
- glazing and installation certified to Australian Standard AS1288-2006
- safety glass certified to Australian Standard AS2208-1996.
BAL ratings were also taken into consideration when designing the project.
